Eat and Drink St. Maarten
~The Friendly Island~
EAT & DRINK
Some of our favorites
As an island of Caribbean culinary excellence, there are few restaurants that will disappoint. One of our favorite parts of our trips here is the exceptional food!
Notes
A variety of fresh breakfast and brunch locations in Simpson bay offer you an excellent selection. Whether you want bakery style or mimosa and eggs benedict, you’ll find it.
The island boasts the best mahi mahi I’ve ever had. Definitely get a mahi sandwich for lunch one day you’re there. With French and Dutch inspired cuisine, Dinner never disappoints. Restaurants like Vesna’s have sent their Chefs to Europe for training and it shines through. Heather’s favorite Chicken Caeser salad is found at Juliette’s Bistro.
Feeling like a cheeseburger in paradise? SXM Tap and Still has the exact burger you want. Our personal favorite BBQ place in the world is The Captains Rib Shack. If you can get there its a real treat. Fall off the bone ribs, hearty sides and semi outside dining at picnic tables it embodies the down to earth love of the Carribbean. Food at the Holland house in Philipsburg is excellent. The truffle fries are a must.
Local Drink favorites include: Carib(like Corona), Banana\Baileys\Coconut frozen drinks, Dark and stormies with excellent Carribbean rum.
